2. Introductions--About the Author--Using Word on the Mac---VOICE
Write a short biographical paragraph about yourself in the THIRD PERSON (
he or she) for the publication of your new book. Describe yourself to let your reading public know more about who you are, what you have accomplished, what interests you, and what your life is like.
Example:
_________ is 14-years-old and has been attending School of the Arts in Rochester, New York since seventh grade. She majors at creative writing, but her first love was performing. She was in her first production at six years old (Once On This Island) and has continued to thrive in theatre in and outside of school for the past eight years. She uses her spare time to write poetry and finds inspiration in her friends and the rain. She looks up to her mom for support and uses her father’s death as a topic for much of her writing. In the future, she hopes to become a social interventionist to work with adolescents in schools. She hopes to minor in creative writing to continue the education she started in middle school. But for now, she takes one day at a time to improve her skills as a writer and a person. Next, share this with a partner, telling this person about yourself using the FIRST PERSON (
I).
Change
he or she to
I as you talk about yourself.
Next, have your partner introduce you to the class using the SECOND PERSON (you).
Share bios.
