When Laurie was only a few months old, her mother Deanna Ernisse, her father Bj Ernisse, and her older sister Kherie Ernisse, left Fort Hood Texas to move back to Rochester. Laurie was never a girly girl. She was always the one in jeans and a t-shirt, ready to play in the dirt, ready to fix a car, always something that people thought were a “man’s job.” She loved proving people wrong and showing them that females can do anything a male can do, and even sometimes, better than a male. Currently, Laurie lives in Rochester with her grandmother and two sisters in an apartment building. She loves writing and it is her passion. She loves music and spending time thinking on how to argue competitively, possibly as a lawyer. She plans on pursuing her interest as a lawyer, or a professional writer.

Ja’kiya Aunt was a poet but Ja’kiya didn’t like poems she loved to write stories she always had thousands of idea for different stories and things. Only person that ever knew how much she love writing was her Grandmother that was Ja’kiya’s best friend she told her everything and she always told Ja’kiya to do what she loved, the only problem was she thought everyone would laugh and tease her because writing was boring and lame. It wasn’t a sport or anything like that so for a while she left it alone but when she died in 2009 Ja’kiya passion for writing grew she wrote everywhere she went. The day she berried her grandmother she promised to make her proud and now she is a 9th grade creative writing major and loves what she does.
