  1. Alexander Christie and Kyra Majewski
    1. The main characters are Bobby, Feather, and Nia.
    2. The narrator is Bobby.
    3. The book is about Bobby, a young father, who struggles to take care of his newborn daughter, Feather.
    4. The story takes place in New York City in modern times.
    5. His use of language is appropriate for the setting and time period of the story. The language is realistic for Bobby because he lives in the city and city people use slang terms and they often swear.
    6. I like the writing style because it helps the reader to fully understand Bobby’s story and the changes that he endured when he was given the new responsibility of taking care of Feather. It doesn’t make it harder to read as long as you understand which perspective is being used. The author wrote it this way so that you could fully comprehend his struggles and difficulties throughout his life.
    7. Bobby deeply loves Feather and he will do anything to protect her and care for her but she frequently cries and keeps him from getting any rest.
    8. He feels very isolated from Nia because she wasn’t there to take care of Feather with him. He used to love her but now he is feeling conflicted.
    9. I think that Nia may have gotten sick or became mentally instable with the birth of her child and is still in the hospital trying to recover. This would make her unable to take care of her baby.
    10. Bobby’s parents were very upset and shocked by this news. Nia’s parents seemed calm but were hiding their true feelings of anger. Bobby’s friends at first push the news to the side and treat it as if nothing happened but when they see Bobby’s reaction they realize that it is a very tough situation for Bobby.
    11. Bobby is a good kid because he has taken full responsibility for his child and is determined to keep the child and care for Feather the best he can.
    12. I think the book is very interesting and is very influential to young adult readers. It is uniquely and well written as well.

  2. 1.) The main characters are Bobby, Nia, Feather, K-Boy and J.L.
    2.) The narrator is Bobby.
3.) . The book is about a teenage male, Bobby, who gets his girlfriend, Nia, pregnant. The majority of the book is him struggling with taking care of Feather, his daughter, himself and his emotions after his Nia dies.
4.) The story takes place in New York City, modern times. The book alternates between the time periods of “then, “and “now.”
5.) The author’s use of language adds emphasis to the story’s setting, New York City, and is sort of like a part of the character, so the way the character talks tells you important things about him that you might not know if he didn’t talk like this.
6.) The writing style, now/then, is very interesting to follow. I enjoy it, because as you are reading about him dealing with the result of things he has done in the past, you also learn and understand what he had done in the past at the time.
7.) Bobby love his daughter Feather. He feels as though Feather is the last part of Nia left.
8.) Bobby loves Nia, but at the same time he feels as though he will never actually be connected to her on the same level as before again.
9.) Nia got some type of condition while giving birth to Feather and was then in a permanent coma. She cannot take care of her baby because she is pretty much brain dead.
10.) Bobby’s parents were angry with him for not being safe and disregarding everything they tried to teach him about being safe. Bobby’s friends more disregarded everything going on in Bobby’s like having to do with Feather. Nia’s parents, however, were extremely angry with both Nia and Bobby, and although they tried to hide the way they actually felt about the pregnancy, they were torn up inside.
11.) I think Bobby is a good kid, because he took responsibility of his daughter even though there was the option of putting her up for adoption.
12.) This book is really good and I love the style of writing. I have also finished the book already.

    14. Bobby gets arrested for spray painting on public walls and when he gets to the station he calls his father to bail him out. When he was spray painting, he lost track of time and was gone for hours. This made his family worried and angry and was also why he was caught and arrested.

    21. The baby’s name is Feather because when she was first given to him, it felt like the air was brushed by a feather.
    22. Bobby and Feather end up in Heaven, Ohio.
    23. I believe that they will have some hardships throughout their lives but their deep love will keep them together and happy forever.
    24. I think that this book is influential for teens and their thoughts about teen pregnancies. It brings the struggle of the situation to light. Though the book was deep, it did not capture our interest because of its anti-climactic storyline.
