  3. Dear Aunty Irma,
I just wanted to let you know that the guy that you told us to call when we got to the north- Chava I think- didn't answer the phone. Or I think Nayeli said that the number you gave us didn't even exist any more... That was very disappointing and made me feel like there was a black cloud over me, raining, making me very depressed.
Do you have any idea how scared I am? Or how scared we all are? Not only for myself but for all the girls in the group. And since I'm the only boy in the group its like they sorta look to me for somewhat protection that I feel like I won't be able to give. We went through so much while being on the bus and coming here to Tijuana. Like how we had to watch a couple from Columbia get thrown off, or how we had to step off repeatedly, and one of the times we stopped, we were harassed by pervert men, and had most of our belongings stolen.
I don't know about Nayeli right now, but I'm pretty sure that all of us want to go home, back to our boring little Tres Camarones. I want to curl up in a ball and close my eyes and hope that I get to go back to cooking my repeated recipes of salsa's, and torta's, or arro con pollo, anything like back home would be like my personal jesus right now.
I'm writing to you because I wanted to talk to someone who knows the struggle. You're an adult, hopefully you can give me some advice on how we are all supposed to do this. We all feel so close to the beautiful north, but there's always this feeling that we are just moving backwards with each step we make...

  5. we should talk about social justice such as the Treyvon Martin case with being racist. we should also talk about the school system and how we run out of lunch and get treated unfairly as the suburb schools. we should also talk about the bullying and how people need to take action in it.
